Lake Worth Beach has some of the oldest housing in the county. Around downtown and in neighborhoods like College Park, Parrot Cove and South Palm Park, many homes date from the first half of the last century, with small detached garages, narrow single doors and very little room above the opening. Some of those doors still run on extension springs along the sides, and a few are one piece doors that swing up rather than roll. Parts and repairs for those are different from a modern sectional door, so we look before we quote. Close to the Intracoastal the salt air rusts hardware early. What we do here

We fit a matched pair sized to what your door really weighs, set the balance by hand and run the door through its full travel before the opener is reconnected. A frayed cable or a seized roller lets one side of the door drag, and the panels start to rack in the opening. We change cables in pairs, swap worn rollers and cracked hinges, and level the door again so it runs straight and quiet.
Worn drive gears, failed circuit boards, photo eyes knocked out of line and remotes that lost their pairing. Opener repairs usually run $150 to $300. A new opener, supplied and fitted, is typically $350 to $650 depending on the drive type. Ask about a belt drive if a bedroom sits over the garage.
